For too long, broadband connections in the Borders have not been as quick and reliable as local people need.

That's why I warmly welcome the news that approximately 27,000 Scottish Borders premises will soon benefit from a faster broadband network.

I was really pleased to recently welcome an inspirational Cancer Research fundraiser from the Scottish Borders to a prestigious event at Downing Street which celebrated local charity champions from all over the United Kingdom.

I was delighted to welcome the UK Government Secretary of State for Education to the Borders College last week.
