I was ecstatic to hear that an outstanding small business in the Scottish Borders has been named a winner in a prestigious UK-wide competition to crown some of the country’s top exporters.
I had the pleasure of joining around 1200 school children from 60 schools across the Scottish Borders on Tuesday as they sampled first-hand the experience of running a farm, producing food, and working in the rural economy.
The Borders Railway extension to Hawick, Newcastleton and onto Carlisle is on the right track and I look forward to seeing the feasibility study start in the near future.
