Berwickshire High pupils praised for reaching UK reading final

A group of Berwickshire High School pupils recently reached the final of a UK-wide reading competition.

Four students - Willow Abbott, Tess Crilly, Darcy Martin and Amelia Lake - placed in the top 20 in the National Reading Champions Quiz.

Bank branch closures 'unacceptable'

I have been told that Lloyds will shut four Bank of Scotland branches in Duns, Eyemouth, Jedburgh and Newcastleton between October 2023 and February 2024. 

This is worrying news for people in the Borders who need to use local bank services in-person.
