Run by local volunteers with Cornerstone, one of Scotland’s largest charities, the Sunday Club is a chance for people with learning difficulties to meet and access support services.

New proposals designed to clamp down on nuisance phone calls are being introduced in the House of Commons today.

Ahead of the Grand National this weekend, local MP John Lamont has backed a Borders winner by putting a charity bet on Sandy Thomson’s Seeyouatmidnight.

Placing the £25 each way bet at Ladbrokes in Kelso, any winnings will go to MND Scotland.

With just a few weeks to go John Lamont MP is now kitted out for his MND fundraising London Marathon.

On the 22nd April, John will be one of a record number of MPs running the London Marathon and is raising funds for MND Scotland and the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
