The new Coldstream Men’s Shed opened its doors recently and in attendance was local MSP John Lamont.
The facility, which is part of a Men’s Shed association boasting around 400 premises across the UK, held its first ever doors open day last weekend.
Men’s Sheds provide a community space for local people to share skills and work together on projects to benefit the local area. They also provide a facility for local men who might otherwise find themselves isolated or disengaged from their local community.
Speaking afterwards, John Lamont MSP said: “It was great to see so much interest in the new Men’s Shed in Coldstream and as a local I was very pleased to become a member myself.
“Men’s Shed’s are fantastic facilities which provide not only a benefit to the community and an opportunity for local people to socialise.
“Particularly in more rural areas like the Borders, it’s all too common for men to suffer from social isolation and it’s great that there is something new on offer in Coldstream.”
