A vital election is taking place this week.
On Thursday, in the Scottish Parliament election, the power is in your hands.
Your vote will decide if we keep the SNP out here locally and stop them getting a majority across Scotland.
Here in the Borders, every election is so close. In this election, it's once again on a knife-edge between the Scottish Conservatives and the SNP.
The choice is clear: either Rachael Hamilton will win and focus on your priorities or the SNP candidate will sneak in and obsess about independence.
No other party can win here. Reform, Labour and the Lib Dems are too far behind.
If we unite to vote Scottish Conservative and beat the SNP here in the Borders, we can stop the Nationalists from getting a majority across Scotland.
We all know what they would do with that majority. John Swinney has said it himself - he will demand another referendum. That will be his top priority, above all else.
The focus won't be on lowering your bills, reducing NHS waiting lists or fixing our roads.
All the SNP's energy and all the government's resources will be directed towards their obsession with independence.
They'll be distracted from the day job and all the things that really matter to us locally in the Borders won't get a look in.
So, on Thursday, please vote smart for the only candidate who can beat the SNP.
Vote Scottish Conservative. Vote Rachael Hamilton. And together, let's stop an SNP majority and reject any talk of a divisive referendum.
