There has been some news from LINK regarding access to cash and banking in Selkirk: https://www.link.co.uk/media/swjh0am4/selkirk-28-day-appeal-outcome.pdf.
This is a step in the right direction. I look forward to engaging with Cash Access UK to highlight the issues faced by local residents in Selkirk, and the need for better access to cash across the Scottish Borders.
I have been campaigning to improve access to cash across the Scottish Borders, including presenting my petition - signed by over 1,400 local residents - to the House of Commons.
In my view, a banking hub is still needed for Selkirk, but I am grateful to the team at LINK for their report and recommendation, which highlights the need for a solution for residents who are currently unable to access cash.
