SNP leaving 20,000 visitors to Borders 'in the dark'

The SNP have been accused of leaving 20,000 visitors to the Borders "in the dark" after Visit Scotland announced they would close the Jedburgh tourist information office.

Visit Scotland, an SNP Government agency, said recently they would close 25 visitor information centres across Scotland.

The SNP Government must step in and prevent the closure of this vital tourist information service which helped nearly 20,000 people last year.

That is 20,000 visitors to the Borders who will be left in the dark about many of the fantastic sights to see, outstanding tourist attractions, and brilliant small businesses to visit.

This unacceptable decision must be reversed by Visit Scotland. If they won't change course, it's the SNP's responsibility to intervene so that small businesses and the Borders economy don’t suffer.
