Local MP John Lamont presented a bouquet of flowers to Jedburgh centenarian Betty Bond last week as she marked her milestone birthday.
The Borders lady celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday.
Borders MP John Lamont said: "I was delighted to meet Betty and help mark such a special birthday.
"She was very pleased to receive a card from His Majesty to commemorate the occasion.
"It's remarkable to think she was born in the same year as his mother, Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
"Reaching the age of 100 is an incredible and rare achievement, which Betty should be very proud of.
"It was a pleasure to wish Betty a very happy 100th birthday and the very best for the year ahead.”
