Local MSP John Lamont has lent his support to Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning by attending several of the events organised in Hawick.
Every year, Macmillan Cancer calls on people across the UK to help raise money to support people with cancer - by drinking coffee and eating cake.
Last year, coffee mornings raised over £25 million and the charity is hoping this year’s efforts will be the biggest ever. John joined with teams in Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy on Oliver Place, Boots on the High Street and at Homebase/Argos.
John Lamont MSP said: “Macmillan want to make sure no one has to face cancer alone but they can't do it without the amazing people who take part in coffee mornings each year.
“Last year, Macmillan raised a record-breaking amount of money and I really hope they can improve on this once again.
“It’s a fun and easy way to raise money to help Macmillan be there for people with cancer and their families and I was delighted to lend a hand to the efforts in Hawick.
“The teams in Hawick did a really great job raising money for this excellent cause.”
