Borders MP John Lamont last week met with the chair of Ofgem at the site of the proposed Cross Border Connection project to raise local concerns about the mega-pylon scheme.
Representatives from the local campaign group, SP Energy Networks (SPEN) and the National Energy System Operator (NESO) also attended the meeting with Ofgem chair Mark McAllister.
Borders MP John Lamont said: "I was pleased to welcome the chair of Ofgem to the Borders so he could hear directly from local people about the concerns surrounding the proposed mega-pylon project.
"It was important that he heard first-hand the strength of feeling and the concerns residents have raised about the potential impact on our countryside, farming land, and local communities.
"I have consistently said that local people deserve to have their voices heard and that these proposals must be reconsidered.
"I will continue standing up for Borders communities and demanding changes to these proposals so that our countryside is not scarred by mega-pylons."
