John Lamont MP comment on Scottish Budget

Borders MP John Lamont said: "This budget is a letdown for Borders residents who want to see the roads fixed and essential local services improved.

"Council budgets will be under severe strain as the SNP underfund local authorities and leave them struggling to balance the books.

"This budget will once again leave people paying more to get less in return.

"Rural areas will suffer the worst of the SNP's cuts, showing yet again that the SNP ignore the needs and concerns of Borders residents."
