Local MSP John Lamont has paid a visit to the Jedburgh Men’s Shed, after meeting the team at ‘Shedfest’ in Kelso’s Tait Hall a few weeks ago.
John Lamont MSP paid a visit to the Jed Shed this week, one of the first Men’s Sheds set up in the Borders, to see how the team were doing and hear about their plans for the future.
The visit was arranged following Shed Fest, which took place at the end of March in Kelso. The event, which was attended by representatives from the 5 existing Men’s Sheds in the Borders and provided an opportunity for members of the public to view and purchase the wide variety of produce to come out of Men’s Sheds in the Borders.
John Lamont is a strong supporter of the Men’s Shed movement and is a member of the recently established Coldstream Men’s Shed.
Speaking afterward the visit, John Lamont MSP said: “Jedburgh’s Shed was one of the first to be set up in the Borders and it’s seems to be going from strength to strength, thanks to the hard work of Trevor Gallon and his team.
“I’m a big supporter of Men’s Sheds as they give locals the chance to socialise with like-minded people and put their skills to good use. I was really impressed with the variety of wares at Shedfest which was why I wanted to pay a visit to Jedburgh.”
